Suggestion:
Lighting and Electrical System
A.It was recommended to replace the present lighting with LED lightings in the hotel corridor and guest rooms. The present LED lighting development is becoming much mature and economical and can be justified for both energy saving and meeting sustainability criteria. The saving of electricity of the LED lighting also indirectly saves air conditioning load due to lower internal heat generated.
B.The provision of LED lighting at corridor is subject to the final architectural design. However, it is recommended to have lighting in front of guestroom door for clearly indication of the room number.
C.Although the unit price of LED light bulb is much higher than the tungsten bulb or energy saving bulb, but considering the longer lift time and the energy saved, the extra unit cost can be recovered in short time. For detail total cost comparison between LED bulb and the others, please refer to the Appendix “ “
D.The light tubes in car park floors and staircases are of T8 tube, it is recommended to gradually replaced them with T5 tube for energy saving. LED tube is not recommended in this stage as the products are still not matured, and the unit price is almost 3 times higher than T5 tube.
E.The execution of the Energy Efficiency Ordinance will be applicable to this building in the next 3 years. All circuits would have to be metered. As the implementation involved power disconnection, the implementation of it was recommended to be started in Phase 1 work. In the following renovation, the program of addition of meters shall also be taken into account.
